Supporting the Village Infrastructure Acceleration, SG Builds IDR346 Million Worth Concrete Road in Tegaldowo Village, Rembang
Rembang, September 21, 2022 – PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) distributed infrastructure cluster assistance to Tegaldowo Village, Rembang Regency, amounting to IDR346,159,000 for the construction of a 230-meter concrete road which has been underway since July 2022.
The total assistance worth IDR1.75 billion distributed to six villages around the company is one of PTSG's various supports through the Civil Society Forum (FMM) activities. The aid includes the infrastructure cluster, the participatory-based community empowerment cluster, and the Socio-Cultural cluster within the FMM program.
According to Dharma Sunyata, Senior Manager of Communication & CSR of PTSG, the construction is a labor-intensive activity involving local village workers coordinated by the Tegaldowo village government in partnership with PTSG through the FMM program.
'With convenient access to transportation for carrying out trade and service activities, this construction is expected to have a domino effect, which can propel the community's economy," said Sunyata in his press release, Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
Sunyata continued that this assistance is the company's commitment to promoting the acceleration of village infrastructure development in line with SDG 9, namely 'Building Resilient Infrastructure'.
"For the community to benefit directly, PTSG is present and supports infrastructure development. Additionally, it is expected to be able to promote a sense of belonging, assist in developing employment prospects for the community, and support the government's program for National Economic Recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic," said Sunyata.
Sunyata added that this concretization is believed to have a positive impact by changing the village image, previously dominated by dirt roads, into concrete cast roads that are cleaner, more comfortable, stronger, and facilitates public traffic access.
"We expect that the FMM program can become one of the supporting factors for rural community development by involving the village community in a participatory manner from planning, implementation, to monitoring and evaluation. Thus, a healthy social ecosystem, economic improvement, and a sovereign village can be realized," revealed Sunyata (21/9).
